Now Available for Kindle: A Sparrow Stirs its Wings, Composition of a Woman, and Anthology Version I: Writings from the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective

Sudden Denouement Publishing is thrilled to announce that three of our recent releases are now available for Kindle.

Anthology Volume I: Writings from the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective

Anthology Volume I: Writings from the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective is a thoughtfully curated compendium of the best writing published online by the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective from its launch in August of 2016 through April 2018. It includes 138 pieces of cutting-edge poetry, prose and short fiction written by 29 diverse writers from England, Romania, Japan, India, Finland, the United States and Canada. Thirty-one of the 138 pieces were written exclusively for the Anthology. This volume captures the astonishing raw power of these individual and united poetic voices.

“Sudden Denouement’s Anthology exposes and breaks many of the taboos of being truly and unashamedly human, giving us permission to look at and embrace them in the moment of reading. I was allowed a glimpse into the writers’ souls; comprehending their words was an exercise in the development of understanding human nature. This is a world in which the heaviness of life weights everything down until it is distilled—frustration and hate, love and unfiltered sex, bodily urges, addictions, the complexity of human interactions. Descriptions are brightly painful in some cases, transparently critical in others, but always smack of truth. Divergent work demands that there are no holds barred; the writer reveals everything, and cuts close to the bone, even his or her own, in order to create a pulsating, living amalgamation of words.”

A Sparrow Stirs its Wings by Rachel Finch

“Every now and then, when the world seems to be rocked in chaos and people are screaming without listening – vile words and cries for help climbing on top of and over each other – a single voice stands out, and that voice is pure in its truth and stunning in its wisdom.

Rachel Finch, and her debut book, A Sparrow Stirs its Wings, is that voice right now. Turning her heartbreaking abuse into heart wrenching prose, Finch writes her truth and gives her strength to every unnamed victim turned survivor.”

Composition of a Woman by Christine E. Ray

Christine Ray’s debut poetry collection ‘Composition of a Woman’ is an extraordinary glimpse into the essence of what it takes to make, and sometimes simultaneously break, a woman as strikingly powerful as she is beautiful. Split into five sections (Nerve, Brain, Breast, Rib, and Blood), Ray writes about chronic illness, depression, love, loss, and identity.

“Poet Christine Ray’s first printed collection of poetry, Composition of a Woman (Sudden Denouement Press, 2018) is a striking, fearless foray into the psyche of womanhood, both highly relatable and intensely personal for female readers and achingly candid and fascinating for male.”

Quit Your Job and Become a Poet – Georgia Park

gp_cover_full

Once a week we will be highlighting books by Sudden Denouement members and friends. The first book is Georgia Park’s first book of poetry. Georgia is the personification of the warrior poet. She has an infectious energy I do not see in most writers. I have come to know Georgia very well in this process and can bear witness to her passion for poetry and her unique style of writing. Georgia’s book is available through Lulu.com. I would make the case that Georgia’s work is a worthy investment for anyone who has a passion for literature. Georgia defines her collection as such:
This poetry collection has a beginning, middle and an end. It covers two months’ worth of misadventures in the life of an embittered and slightly arrogant young woman who decides to quit her job to become a poet out of spite after being called a few choice names. Sometimes you will like her; sometimes you may not. Sometimes you may laugh or cry or want your money back. But life’s not very fair that way, now is it? This is a coming of age story, and that age is almost thirty ……….
Here is a link for her wonderful collection of poetry: Quit Your Job and Become a Poet. Her website is Private Bad Thoughts.
Georgia also runs a feminist collective Whisper and the Roar. She is always looking for feminist writers. If you are not familiar with it, please take a minute and check it out.
We love Georgia Park. She is an inspiration to us all.

HUSH By Nicole Lyons

HUSH written by Nicole Lyons, is a searing collection of poems that takes the reader on an emotional ride, through the tunnel of mental illness and reckless love.

Nicole Lyons’ voice undulates from pain to ecstasy, at breakneck speed. Erotic, soulful and authentic, Nicole has written a raw memoir encapsulated in poems. Stepping off the cliff, delving into HUSH, readers will find themselves breathless and wanting more. -Julie Anderson

Just Got My Copy of Hush By Nicole Lyons

HUSH

I just received my copy of “Hush,” the first book of poetry by Nicole Lyons. Sudden Denouement has made several posts about the release of her book, but I think it is fitting to make another mention of it. I am very excited about reading the book and would like to spend some time writing about it in-depth in the near future. Nicole has always been supportive of other writers, and I would hope that our friends would support her.  I understand the passion that goes into the these works, thus it is always an honor to be able to purchase the work of artist like Nicole. She is a wonderful poet and a beautiful soul; I am very blessed to call her a friend. I am not good at taking advice, but I have always look to Nicole for words of wisdom in relation to my personal life and SD. I would also like a take a second and thank Jillian Anderson and the Feminine Collective for making it possible and doing everything they do to support literature.

Again, I would like to make mention of all the wonderful works that are being published by SD writers. I have read Georgia Park’s new book several times and am constantly amazed by her unique voice. At some time in the near future I would love to buy several copies of texts by SD artists (S.K. Nicholas, Georgia Park, Nicole Lyons, Rana Kelly, David Lohrey, and others) and find a way to distribute them, perhaps in a contest. We will soon have our own imprint to publish the works of our writers. The SD chapbook will be a reality.

godspeed
