Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective But Were Afraid to Ask

Q: What is the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective?!

A: The Sudden Denouement Literary Collective and its sister sites Secret First Draft and Whisper and The Roar are forums for divergent literature that we hope excite and challenge you.

Our writers come from around the world but we share a passion for writing and all write because we have to.  We value and respect each other as writers and as human beings. We are committed to inspiring each other and producing high quality work.

Q: What will I find on each site?

A: Sudden Denouement: Monday through Friday we publish original work by our Collective members.  We highlight one writer, collaboration or special feature per day.  Weekends are dedicated to Indie Saturday Blogs and reblogs from our incredible writers so you can get a further taste of what they offer.  Sometimes we run guest posts and guest reblogs because we roll that way.

Secret First Draft: SFD is dedicated to highlighting the stellar work of the members of Sudden Denouement Literary Collective and friends of the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective.  We also try to bring attention to fierce writers we think you should be reading.  We are super excited to be adding original content to SFD later this Spring as we launch the first SFD Collective writers.

Whisper and the Roar: The Whisper and the Roar is a feminist literary collective managed by SD’s own Georgia Park.  Georgia welcomes submissions from any feminist writer—the content of the original work does not need to be feminist but the writer does.

Q: Sounds interesting.  How big is the time commitment to be an SD, SFD or W&R writer?

A: Collective members submit two original pieces per month.  They can choose their own black & white image or the editors can help them find one.  Collective members are expected to respond to reader comments on their blog pieces and to show love and support to other Collective writers.

Q: I don’t like the idea of giving up my work.  Does SD own the rights of writing published on its sites?

A: The individual writers retain ownership of their original work.  We encourage our writers to reblog their Collective publications to their own blogs the same day they are posted by the Collective.  We do ask that whenever this work is shared that it clearly stated that it was originally published on our site.

Q: What are the advantages of being a Collective member?

A: The bragging rights! We think the writers of the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective are the coolest badasses on WordPress.  We also provide each other constant support, encouragement and creative inspiration.  There are exciting opportunities for collaboration, including The Weyward Sisters.  We are also launching a Collective Publication page to provide a centralized location to check out and purchase the books our amazing Collective writers have published or have available for pre-order.

Q: Cool! How does become a member of the SD Collective?

A: New members are considered on an ongoing basis based on our current needs.  We have just extended the deadline of our March Madness Divergent Literature Contest until April 15th.  Click here for information about submitting your work to Whisper and the Roar.
