Trying to sing in four part harmonies – Howl Davies

You tried to teach me how to sing
and play the piano at the same time.
I was never much good at it.
Nor any instrument I played.
If I were to recall
on one completely unadulterated moment
the simplest
and most profound I’ve ever felt
in a sea of irreparable cause,
It was when we were 16.
At the time I was still content in thinking
that I was going to be just fine.
I was playing guitar
and you just watched.
I played the same song
hour after hour.
My friend,
Don’t forget me.
I have that song
tattooed upon me
because I am scared
that I will one day forget that moment.
